DPS_FP06 Introduction This scenario pack comprises of 10 scenarios, all based on the 'ECML London to Peterborough' route available from Steam and the York to Peterborough 'Modern' route available from Creative Rail. Set in the final years of the GNER era, the pack covers passenger operations on the route and utilises the HST, Class 91/Mk4 DVT and Class 156. The scenarios offer varying and challenging operations and gives around 10 hours of further driving on these routes along with varied AI and plenty of interaction with other services to keep you on your toes. Created using real timetables where appropriate, this scenario pack features the following in order to give an engaging and realistic experience. Prototypical consists Prototypical numbering where appropriate Prototypical destination boards where appropriate/possible Prototypical passing AI Adverse Signals & AI Interaction Temporary speed limits. Weather patterns have also been used where possible on all scenarios to depict the actual day in question of when the scenario is set. This weather data has been taken from https://www.wunderground.com/history/. All scenarios have been tested multiple times at linespeed and all have been completed with all AI interaction working correctly. Due to the nature of the program and for reasons that often cannot be explained, some users may not get the same results. Important Notes – Please Read! Scenarios for the Creative Rail route in particular have been troublesome, mainly due to the use of Kuju signalling scripts. Although all scenarios have been thoroughly tested by multiple users, the potential is there for issues arising that I cannot replicate. The scenarios are designed to reflect real world operations and as such will require you to be held at red signals for undefined periods of time. Please do not press TAB in order to press a red signal unless explicit instructions have been given in the notes for each respective scenario as found in the accompanying 'Scenario List' document. Due to the heavy use of AI on the Peterborough to London scenarios, and in particular the use of the Class 313, a program crash is entirely possible. I'd recommend restarting Train Simulator completely before attempting any scenarios on this route. In the era represented, certain GNER services made less/more calls at intermediate stations along the two routes. In order to provide logical end/start points for each scenario, these timetables have been modified accordingly. Because there was no suitable wagon available within the requirements for Plasmor workings, an OBA repaint has been included. Although these were out of traffic by the time the era was set, they have been included and used to provide more variety. At the time of some of the scenarios despicted, the Hull Trains Class 222 was not always in service and sometimes in testing. To provide continuity throughout the scenarios, the Class 222 is depicted as being in service. Scenario Installation If you have downloaded this pack and are already reading this, there is a good chance you have already installed the scenarios because you have already unpackaged the .rar format and revealed the DPS_FP06.rwp. If you are still struggling, the included .rwp can be installed using the Package Manager which can be found by using "Utilities.exe" which is located in your Steam\steamapps\common\railworks directory. Alternatively, archiving programs such as WinRar or 7-Zip can open the .rwp file and the scenarios can manually be placed in your TS2017 installation. Please note that if you are uncomfortable with moving these files manually, I take no responsibility for any damage you may cause to your install if the process is not done correctly. Official installation instructions can also be found via the user manuals, located in your install at Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Manuals After installation is complete, the scenarios should then be viewable in the scenario editor via the Standard Scenarios option and will be located within the list for the 'ECML London to Peterborough' and 'York – Peterborough Modern (Complete)' routes. In the case of this scenario pack, all scenarios are prefixed with [DPS-FP06-XX] and numbered accordingly from 1 through to 10. Extra Stock Installation As well as the requirements stipulated below, specific repaints have also been created for this scenario pack and these need installing separately. Included in the package is a FP06_ExtraStock.rwp file which should first be installed as normal using the instructions above. Then navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Railworks/Assets and double click the ExtraStock_FP06.bat file. This should install the repaints and copy over the relevant .geopcdx files. In isolated cases, due to local permissions and/or read write issues, the batch file can be prevented from copying over some or all of the required files from the 'default' folders. If this occurs, I would suggest using RW Tools to set all folders for the DLC to read write and then following the above process once more. Please note that 'local' means on your system. Scenario Overview A separate scenario document called 'Scenario List' has been included as part of the package for each scenario. This outlines the details for each scenario and provides any relevant notes, please take the time to read these before starting each scenario. Requirements The following stock used has been chosen to try and replicate the correct workings from the real world, where possible. Although the list of required payware is quite extensive, a large proportion of users generally have many of the popular items listed below and I make no apology for the use of these items in order to be as realistic as possible. As the scenario pack is set over two routes, this means that requirements may even be slightly higher than normal, in fact, I could have used even more! All scenario packs from DPSimulation are designed to add further enjoyment to what you have already purchased, however, if you don't own some of the items then please note that RWTools offers a facility to 'swap out' any items that you don't have meaning that these scenario packs should be accessible to all in some form. If you do swap out items, you do so at your own risk and DPSimulation cannot be held responsible for the any scenario not working as originally intended because of this process. More recently, DPSimulation have concentrated the majority of their efforts on freeware for the community but have in the past created routes such as Newcastle to York "Modern", Bristol to Exeter and Totham for Just Trains, as well as creating numerous projects alongside the creators of the software, Dovetail Games. Initially creating content and uploading to community websites such as UKTrainsim, in 2010 DPSimulation purchased their own domain at www.dpsimulation.org.uk in order to provide an alternative resource for their own addons and those from around the community. All downloads are permanently high speed with no queues or reduced speeds. If you have any objections ot questions about these instructions, you can get in touch by using the "Contact Us" form at our website, www.dpsimulation.org.uk Donations Although downloads and content from DPSimulation is primarily free, it does not mean that we do not have weekly/monthly/yearly outgoings. Things such as a high level domain and server costs do mount up, along with the purchase of the relevant research materials and tools to create our content. We then also then have to purchase the addons we use, in this case to create this scenario pack. Although donations are not mandatory to access our content, they are always welcome, specifically to contribute towards the costs we incur in keeping a free service going, no matter how small. All donations will help support the site and addon growth, and play a large part in providing a free, high speed download service for all. If you are interested in making a donation to DPSimulation, this can be done via Paypal and there are donation buttons at the bottom of some pages on www.dpsimulation.org.uk along with one on the right hand side of the official blog, the address of which is above. Credits All scenarios and scenario dedicated repaints have been created by DPSimulation specifically for this package. Thankyou to to the team of beta testers, Brian (bri2808), Johnny (Mr395008) and Richard Fletcher (rfletcher72) who work tirelessly to make sure that the content leaves the door in working order. Thankyou to Jordan Richards for swapping out both the Class 222 and Class 60 in the scenarios for me, as well as applying the textures and replacement .bin files for the Class 60 to the final versions of each scenario. Thankyou to Armstrong Powerhouse for the use of their neutral section sign and magnet placement and permission to use their scenery tiles. © DPSimulation 2016
