Set in the early 1990's and covering various types of traction including the Class 37, Class 47, Class 43 HST and the Class 158, the scenarios offer varying operations and give nearly four hours of further driving on this route. Created using real timetables where possible, this scenario pack features prototypical consists for the era, prototypical passing AI, lots of adverse signals, AI interaction, temporary speed restrictions, custom scenery and much more... Installation If you have downloaded this pack and are already reading this, there is a good chance you have already installed the scenarios because you have already unpackaged the .rar format and revealed the .rwp. If you are still struggling, the included .rwp can be installed using the Package Manager which can be found by using "Utilities.exe" which is located in your Steam \steamapps\common\railworks directory. Alternatively, archiving programs such as WinRar or 7- Zip can open the .rwp file and the scenarios can manually be placed in your TS2014 installation. Please note that if you are uncomfortable with moving these files manually, I take no responsibility for any damage you may cause to your install if the process is not done correctly. Official installation instructions can also be found via the user manuals, located in your install at Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Manuals After installation is complete, the scenarios should then be viewable in the scenario editor via the Single Player/Standard Scenarios option and will be located within the list for the Edinburgh to Glasgow route. In the case of this scenario pack, all scenarios are prefixed with [DPS-SP04_XX] and numbered accordingly from 1 through to 5. Scenario Overview [DPS-SP04_01] – 'Slept In' – Regional Railways Class 37 Difficulty: Medium Length: 55 Minutes Start Time: 06:30 Description Following the overnight run from London Euston, the Highland Sleeper is now running around 90 minutes late. You will take the Fort William portion from Edinburgh Waverley as far as Ashfield. Briefing Starting at Edinburgh Waverley, release the doors to allow passengers to board the day coaches. You will then await your new path, which should see you depart within a couple of minutes. [DPS-SP04_02] – 'Glasgow Growl' – Dutch Class 37 Difficulty: Easy Length: 30 Minutes Start Time: 10:09 Description This morning you are in charge of a loco hauled working bound for Inverness. Hauled by a Class 37, these workings are becoming increasingly popular with enthusiasts as the loco hauled pool is reduced at ScotRail. Briefing Starting at Glasgow Queen Street, first release your doors to allow passengers to board before preparing for your booked departure time of 10:11. You will then be calling at both Croy and Larbert, where another driver will take over. Notes Today, there is a 15mph speed restriction in place on the viaduct at Larbert due to engineering works on the structure. [DPS-SP04_03] – 'The Highland Chieftan' – Intercity Swallow HST Difficulty: Easy Length: 40 Minutes Start Time: 10:38 Description British Rail provide a daily service each way between Inverness and London Kings Cross called 'The Highland Chieftan'. You are in charge of todays up service and will be driving between Larbert and Edinburgh. Briefing After following a Glasgow bound stopper down from Stirling, you are currently waiting for signal LN46 to clear before proceeding to Edinburgh. Notes Today, there is a 15mph speed restriction in place on the viaduct at Larbert due to engineering works on the structure. [DPS-SP04_04] – 'Tight Squeeze' – Regional Railways Class 158 Difficulty: Hard Length: 60 Minutes Start Time: 23:28 Description It is Saturday night and there are engineering works around Princes Street Gardens which has resulted in two running lines being closed. Although normally quiet at this time of night, these closures have resulted in all traffic trying to squeeze through two tracks instead of the usual four. Briefing Starting at Edinburgh Waverley, please release the doors to allow passengers to board before preparing for your booked departure time of 23:30. You will then be proceeding to Glasgow, calling at Haymarket, Linlithgow, Polmont, Falkirk High, Croy and Lenzie. [DPS-SP04_05] – 'Positioning From Polmadie' – Intercity Class 47 Difficulty: Medium Length: 50 Minutes Start Time: 07:23 Description This morning you are in charge of an empty stock working using a Class 47 with a rake of Mk2e coaches. Originating at Polmadie Depot, you are heading to Edinburgh Waverley where this stock will form a service to Birmingham New Street. Briefing Starting at Greenhill Lower Jcn, you are currently following a Falkirk Grahamston stopping service. Once that service has cleared, you should have a reasonably straightforward run to Edinburgh Waverley. Notes Due to engineering work at Grangemouth Jcn, there is currently a 10mph TSR due to the replacement of pointwork. Driving Notes Because the Edinburgh to Glasgow route is prototypically fitted with TPWS protection, this means that you have to be more careful with your driving technique, especially on the approach to red signals. Where TPWS is fitted in advance of a signal to protect a junction ahead, you should not approach the signal in excess of 15mph, or an emergency brake application will be made. Requirements The following stock used has been chosen to try and replicate the correct workings from the real world, where possible. Although the list of required payware is quite extensive, a large proportion of users generally have many of the popular items listed below and I make no apology for the use of these items in order to be as realistic as possible. All scenario packs from DPSimulation are designed to add further enjoyment to what you have always purchased, however, if you don't own some of the items then please note that RWTools offers a facility to 'swap out' any items that you don't have meaning that these scenario packs should be accessible to all in some form. If you do swap out items, you do so at your own risk and DPSimulation cannot be held responsible for the any scenario not working as originally intended because of this process. DPSimulation - www.dpsimulation.org.uk DPSimulation Blog - www.dpsimulation.blogspot.co.uk DPSimulation Twitter - @DPSimulation Donations Although downloads and content from DPSimulation is primarily free, it does not mean that we do not have weekly/monthly/yearly outgoings. Things such as a high level domain and server costs do mount up, along with the purchase of the relevant research materials and tools to create our content. We then also then have to purchase the addons we use, in this case to create this scenario pack. Although donations are not mandatory to access our content, they are always welcome, specifically to contribute towards the costs we incur in keeping a free service going, no matter how small. All donations will help support the site and addon growth, and play a large part in providing a free, high speed download service for all. If you are interested in making a donation to DPSimulation, this can be done via Paypal and there are donation buttons at the bottom of some pages on www.dpsimulation.org.uk along with one on the right hand side of the official blog, the address of which is above. Support In the unlikely event that this pack does not function as intended, please contact us via our support address, giving as much detail as possible. http://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/contactus.html Credits All scenarios have been created by DPSimulation specifically for this package.
