Passengers travelling through east London are facing widespread disruption after signalling cables were stolen in the West Ham area.

The incident has affected all lines in the vicinity, severely impacting services between London Fenchurch Street and Barking. Trains on the route may be cancelled, delayed by up to 25 minutes, or altered from their usual schedules as operators attempt to manage the knock-on effects.

West Ham station is currently not being served as a result of the damage, leaving commuters to seek alternative routes while engineers work to stabilise the network.

Network Rail are on site working to resolve the issue. Major disruption is expected until at least 14:00.
