Emergency Incident Forces Closure of Birmingham New Street to Longbridge Route

ail services between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge have resumed after emergency services responded to an incident on the route. Although trains are running again, the return to normal operation is still ongoing, with passengers advised to expect delays of up to 20 minutes or possible cancellations while the timetable stabilises. Current estimates suggest disruption could continue until at least 20:00.

To help passengers complete their journeys, ticket holders are being allowed to travel at no additional cost on National Express West Midlands bus services operating between Birmingham New Street and Longbridge.

Additional support is also in place in the form of replacement bus services. These are available at no extra charge between Longbridge and Bromsgrove or Redditch, with travel permitted in both directions.

Passengers are being reminded that ticket acceptance arrangements and alternative travel options can be altered or withdrawn at short notice. Travellers are strongly advised to check with their train operator before setting off to ensure they have the latest information.
