Vossloh has expanded its presence in Scandinavia with the acquisition of Nordic Tamping Service AB (NTS), a Swedish company based in Borlänge that specializes in tamping ballast beds to stabilise railway tracks. The deal was finalised on Friday, January 9.

NTS operates primarily in Sweden and Norway and brings to Vossloh both a skilled team and the technical equipment required for ballast tamping—a key service in the installation and maintenance of railway tracks. With this addition, Vossloh can now offer network operators in the region a broader range of services.

The company already has around 530 employees across Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland. Its operations cover the supply of turnouts, fastening systems, and concrete sleepers, as well as track construction and maintenance services. NTS will join Vossloh’s Lifecycle Solutions business unit.

Oliver Schuster, CEO of Vossloh AG, said:

“NTS completes our portfolio in Scandinavia. This enables us to offer our customers an even more comprehensive range of services from a single source than before.”
