West Coast Main Line chaos as emergency incident halts trains between Tring and Hemel Hempstead

Emergency services are dealing with a developing incident on the railway between Tring and Hemel Hempstead, forcing the closure of all lines through the affected section.

The disruption is having a significant impact on services along the West Coast Main Line, with trains running between London Euston and Milton Keynes Central subject to cancellations, alterations and lengthy delays. Passengers are being warned that journey times could be extended by up to two hours.

Rail operators have indicated that the disruption is likely to continue throughout the day while emergency crews remain on site and it is deemed unsafe to reopen the line.

Both Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway have organised alternative ticket acceptance and arrangements. For more information on these arrangements click here.

Any alternative arrangements can be withdrawn at short notice. Always check with your chosen operator before travelling.
