The Content Creator Pack: Art Deco for Cities: Skylines was developed by Matt "Shroomblaze" Crux and published by Paradox Interactive. Released on September 1, 2016, this DLC marked the first collaboration between Paradox and community modders to create official content for the game. Crux, known for his architectural designs, contributed a series of Art Deco-inspired buildings, adding a distinctive 1920s aesthetic to the game's urban environments.

The DLC introduced a selection of new assets, including six residential buildings, six commercial buildings, and three unique structures. These additions allowed players to diversify their cities' architectural styles, incorporating the ornate and geometric designs characteristic of the Art Deco movement. The pack aimed to enhance the visual variety and historical depth of cities within the game, providing players with more tools to express their creativity.

Promotion for the Art Deco DLC was carried out through Paradox Interactive's official channels, including announcements on their website and social media platforms. The DLC was highlighted as a significant addition to the game, emphasizing the collaboration with a community creator and the unique architectural style it brought to the game. Developer diaries and community discussions also played a role in generating interest and providing insights into the upcoming content.

Reception to the Art Deco DLC was mixed. While many players appreciated the new aesthetic options and the opportunity to diversify their cities' appearances, some felt that the pack's content was limited in scope. The inclusion of only a small number of buildings led to discussions about the value of the DLC relative to its size. Despite these critiques, the Art Deco DLC was recognized for its contribution to the game's visual diversity and its role in fostering community involvement in official content creation.
