The Ford Remastered DLC for Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 was developed by Polish studio Red Dot Games and published by PlayWay S.A. It was released on March 24, 2023, as part of the continued post‑launch support for the base game. The base title itself, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, originally released in August 2021 on Windows and was later made available on major console platforms.

In terms of content, the DLC introduces licensed Ford vehicles including the 1965 Ford GT40, the 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1, the 2017 Ford F350 Super Duty, and the 2017 Ford Mustang GT. Accompanying these cars are a set of Ford‑branded engines – such as the small‑block Windsor V8s (289 and 302), the Cobra Jet 429, the Coyote V8 and the Ford BOSS V8 – each integrated into the garage simulation for rebuild, tuning and installation. The base game places players in the role of a garage owner, allowing them to buy cars (often from auctions or barns), diagnose faults, disassemble engines, paint and tune vehicles, test them on the road and sell finished projects.

Regarding promotion, the Ford Remastered DLC was announced via the Steam community event announcement for the base game and featured on the game’s storefront page. It was framed as one of the “Remastered” brand‑specific content packs in the Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 ecosystem, aimed at expanding the vehicle roster with a prominent American marque. The developer highlighted the addition of the Ford brand vehicles and new engines and included the DLC in bundle offers with other DLCs for players looking to build a larger garage collection.

Reception to the DLC has been generally positive: on the platform the user review count was modest (around 36 reviews) with an 86 % positive rating, indicating a favourable response from the community. Players particularly appreciated the licensed Ford models and the detailed engine work options. Some comments pointed out that the scope of the DLC was modest compared to larger or more feature‑rich expansions, but for enthusiasts of the car‑mechanic simulation who enjoy catalogue growth and mechanical detail, it was regarded as a welcome addition.
