The F/A-18C & F-14B Operation Iron Tide campaign DLC for DCS World was developed by Eagle Dynamics SA in partnership with Sandman Simulations and published by Eagle Dynamics. It was released in September 2025 as one of the most recent campaign offerings for the simulation. The DLC was designed to provide a large-scale, story-driven experience that combines the strengths of both the Hornet and Tomcat modules while also incorporating broader command and planning responsibilities for the player.

The campaign is set in the year 2000, when a terrorist attack attributed to Hezbollah severely damages the USS John C. Stennis while docked at Haifa. In response, a United Nations coalition launches Operation Iron Tide, tasking the player with commanding and flying in a combined force of F/A-18C Hornets and F-14B Tomcats. Missions include air superiority, fleet defense, SEAD, escort, strike, and close air support, with the player also responsible for tasking squadrons and planning operations. The campaign is dynamically branching, meaning outcomes and planning decisions influence the number of missions flown, ranging anywhere from ten to forty. Supporting materials such as voiceovers, detailed mission briefings, and a 150-page set of tutorials and charts were also included.

Promotion for the DLC primarily came through official DCS channels. It was highlighted in newsletters, official shop updates, and community forum announcements, where its dynamic mission structure and dual-aircraft setup were emphasized. Steam and the DCS e-shop presented detailed listings of the features, mechanics, and requirements, giving players insight into the scale of the campaign. Rather than an extensive marketing campaign outside the DCS community, its visibility largely relied on word of mouth within player forums, community discussions, and the updates issued by Eagle Dynamics themselves.

Reception at launch has been modest, reflecting both the niche nature of DCS campaigns and the timing of its release. Early feedback has been mixed, with some players praising the return of F-14B campaign content and the ambitious branching design, while others noted concerns over balance and AI behavior. With only a small number of initial user reviews available, the long-term reputation of Operation Iron Tide will likely depend on how the community engages with its depth and replayability as more pilots take on its missions in the months ahead.
