Dynowarz: Destruction of Spondylus is a side-scrolling action-platformer developed by Advance Communication Company and published by Bandai for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Released in April 1990 in North America, the game offers a unique blend of platforming and mech combat. Players control Professor Proteus, who pilots the Cyborasaurus, a giant mechanized dinosaur, to battle robotic enemies and destroy Bio-Terminals controlling the Spondylus system. The game features platforming segments, on-foot exploration, and dinosaur combat.

The gameplay is divided into two main modes. In the first mode, players control Cyborasaurus, navigating various planets and battling robotic enemies. Each planet culminates in a boss fight, where defeating the boss grants access to the Artificial Intelligence Compound (AIC). In the second mode, players control Professor Proteus in his battlesuit, navigating the AIC to destroy the infected Life-Support Computer. The game features power-ups such as energy capsules and barrier boosts to aid players in their mission.

The soundtrack of Dynowarz: Destruction of Spondylus was composed by Osamu Kasai, Masaaki Harada, and Nobuhito Nakayama. The music complements the game's energetic gameplay with catchy and upbeat tunes. The soundtrack has been appreciated by fans for its ability to capture the game's lively atmosphere.

Upon release, Dynowarz: Destruction of Spondylus received mostly negative reviews. Criticisms included the game's unbalanced gameplay, low-quality graphics, and numerous bugs. Nintendo Power magazine awarded the game a 13 out of 20 in issue 10. Positive elements mentioned by reviewers included the game's cutscene animations, soundtrack, and several of the power-ups found throughout the game.
