Taxi Life: Black Cab

The Black Cab DLC is developed by Simteract and published by Nacon. The base game, Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator, was released in 2024. The Black Cab DLC was released in September 2025. It is available on the same platforms as the base game: PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and current consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S).

Content-wise, the Black Cab DLC adds the London “Black Cab” model, specifically the LEVC TX2, letting players drive that iconic vehicle throughout the city of Barcelona in the game. Alongside the vehicle, a free update arriving with the DLC gives cosmetic options: new liveries representing flags from several countries (UK, Spain, France, Germany, US) and new stickers for dashboards. The intention is to give a very British vehicle experience in a foreign city context, with the style, silhouette, and interior design built to match the real-life look and feel of the TX2 cab.

In terms of prequels or lineage, Black Cab is not a standalone title; it builds on Taxi Life’s existing systems. The base game already allowed players to drive passengers across Barcelona, manage a taxi business, deal with traffic, weather, picking up fares, and upgrading vehicles and fleet. Promotion for Black Cab involved a press release emphasizing the arrival of the legendary London taxi in the setting of Barcelona, along with developer messaging about the authenticity of the vehicle and its handling.
