The Bus is a city bus simulation game developed by TML-Studios and published by Aerosoft GmbH. It was released in early access for Microsoft Windows on March 25, 2021, via Steam. Initially developed using Unreal Engine 4, the game transitioned to Unreal Engine 5 on December 14, 2022, to enhance graphical fidelity and performance. The game is set in a meticulously recreated 1:1 scale version of Berlin, Germany, offering players an authentic urban driving experience.

In The Bus, players assume the role of a bus driver operating various routes across Berlin. The game features licensed vehicles, including the Scania Citywide LF, and incorporates realistic elements such as ticket sales, passenger boarding and deboarding, dynamic weather, and a day-night cycle. Players can also utilize route and line editors to customize their driving experience. As of 2025, the game has progressed through multiple development phases, introducing new bus models, routes, and gameplay features. The upcoming Phase 3 update is expected to include an economy mode, allowing players to manage their own bus company, and enhanced AI for buses and trams.

Promotion for The Bus primarily involved digital marketing strategies, including trailers and gameplay videos highlighting its realistic simulation aspects and detailed recreation of Berlin. The game was made available for purchase on Steam and through other digital platforms. A downloadable content (DLC) pack, "Hamburg City," was announced, introducing authentic Hamburg bus routes to the game.

Upon release, The Bus received mixed reviews from players and critics. While the game's detailed environment and realistic driving mechanics were praised, some players noted issues with performance and AI behavior. The transition to Unreal Engine 5 was generally well-received, with improvements in graphics and performance. Despite some criticisms, the game maintained a dedicated niche audience and contributed to the continued development of the The Bus series.
