The Spooky Stuff pack for The Sims 4 was developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts, released in 2015. It is a smaller “stuff” pack that requires the base game and was designed to add seasonal and Halloween-themed items and interactions to let players stage spooky celebrations and domestic hauntings.

The pack introduces a pumpkin-carving station, a spooky candy bowl with trick-or-treat style interactions, themed decorative items such as tombstones, eerie paintings and ghost-shaped lights, plus a range of costumes and makeup options for Sims of all ages. These additions support themed parties and home decor, encourage playful seasonal storytelling and give players simple new object-driven interactions to incorporate into everyday gameplay.

Promotion for Spooky Stuff used Electronic Arts’ and Maxis’ standard channels, including the game’s store page, social media announcements and short showcase material highlighting the pumpkin-carving feature, seasonal decorations and costume options. Community creators and livestreams were used to demonstrate party setups, spooky builds and how the new items could be used for Halloween roleplay and seasonal events.

Reception was mixed among players, with some praising the charm and utility of the seasonal items and the pumpkin-carving mechanic for family-friendly spooky roleplay, while others found the pack lightweight compared with larger expansions and expected broader gameplay additions. Overall the pack appealed to players who enjoy decorating, themed parties and short seasonal content, even as its limited scope drew comments from players seeking deeper systems.
