Welcome to Austria! Explore the mountainous countryside of RSSLO’s Giselabahn in Train Simulator, spanning some 80-km and linking multiple towns en-route.

Known officially as the Salzburg-Tyrol Railway, the Giselabahn forms part of the core network through Austria, being the only east-west rail link to Tyrol that resides within the country’s own borders. Its secondary name comes from Archduchess Gisela of Austria.

The line is a very mountainous one, with steep gradients and winding curves making it an undulating Alpine path. This slow and steady nature has seen the route’s long-distance appeal falter in favour of high-speed rail alternatives, however the line remains as an important regional link through the Salzach valley.

Fully electrified and double tracked, and capable of support 140 km/h operation, the Giselabahn is something of a hidden gem within Austria, that now shines in the Alpine sun within Train Simulator thanks to the efforts of RSSLO.
