Train Simulator: Longhai Railway: Lingbao to Mianchi

The Longhai Railway DLC for Train Simulator Classic was developed by Simtech Vision and released by Dovetail Games, introducing players to a major part of China’s rail infrastructure. The add-on focuses on the section of the Longhai main line between Lingbao and Mianchi, covering over 100 kilometres of track through a mixture of industrial, rural, and mountainous settings. The Longhai is one of China’s most important east–west corridors, and the DLC captured that sense of scale and activity, making it one of the standout Chinese releases for the simulator.

The route itself combines electrified double-track sections with single-track stretches, offering a balance of high-speed running and more restrictive operations. Gradients, viaducts, and tunnels punctuate the journey, challenging drivers to carefully manage speed and power. The combination of passenger and freight traffic gave players the chance to experience the versatility of Chinese rail operations, from heavy-haul duties to long-distance express runs. Two modern Chinese electric locomotives were included with the DLC: the HXD1 and HXD1C. The pack also came with a selection of passenger coaches and freight wagons, allowing players to operate a wide range of services.
