Tropico 7 is an upcoming construction and management simulation game developed by Gaming Minds Studios and published by Kalypso Media. It is scheduled for release in 2026, marking the first new entry in the Tropico series since Tropico 6, which debuted in 2019. The game will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Notably, Tropico 7 will be included in Xbox Game Pass from day one, offering subscribers immediate access upon release.

In Tropico 7, players once again take on the role of "El Presidente," the leader of a tropical island nation. The game introduces several new features, including the ability to terraform the environment, allowing for more dynamic and personalized island development. Additionally, the game boasts the largest islands in the series to date, providing players with expansive areas to manage. The political system has been enhanced with the introduction of a council feature, adding depth to the governance and decision-making processes. The campaign will span five maps, continuing the story of El Presidente's dynasty, and will feature over 20 sandbox maps and 10 additional scenarios for varied gameplay experiences.

Promotion for Tropico 7 has included showcasing the game at major gaming events, such as Gamescom 2025, where it garnered attention for its expansive gameplay and new features. The game's inclusion in Xbox Game Pass from launch is a significant promotional strategy, aiming to reach a broad audience of players. Additionally, the game's presence on digital storefronts like Steam and the Epic Games Store allows for widespread visibility and accessibility.

While Tropico 7 has not yet been released, early impressions from hands-on demonstrations have been positive. The game's expansive scale and enhanced features have been highlighted as notable improvements over its predecessors. The introduction of terraforming and the council system are particularly noted for adding depth and complexity to the gameplay. However, as the game has not been fully released, comprehensive reviews and player feedback are yet to be determined.

The game's development by Gaming Minds Studios marks a shift from the previous developer, Limbic Entertainment, who developed Tropico 6. This change has generated interest among fans of the series, as they anticipate how the new development team will influence the direction and quality of the game. Gaming Minds Studios is known for its work on other simulation games, and their experience is expected to contribute positively to the development of Tropico 7.

Looking ahead, Tropico 7 is poised to continue the series' legacy of combining city-building mechanics with political strategy. The enhancements in gameplay features and the game's availability on multiple platforms, including its inclusion in Xbox Game Pass, suggest that Tropico 7 will appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers to the series. As the release date approaches, more information and reviews will provide a clearer picture of how Tropico 7 measures up to its predecessors.
