Bletchley Station Set For New Eastern Entrance After Government Funding Boost

Government funding has been confirmed for a new eastern entrance at Bletchley station, forming part of the wider East West Rail project.

Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced the funding while speaking at the Scientific Superpower Conference. The money will come from the Growth Mission Fund and will support the construction of a new entrance linking the station directly with Bletchley town centre.

The scheme is intended to improve access for passengers, create stronger connections with local shops, services and businesses, and support wider regeneration in the town centre.

The Government funding will sit alongside a previous commitment of up to £5 million from Milton Keynes City Council towards the new entrance.

East West Railway Company said it has been working with the local council and Callum Anderson MP to help bring the investment forward.

The eastern entrance remains subject to final Government clearances, as well as approval of the full delivery and construction schedule.

East West Railway Company said it will now work with the Department for Transport and local partners to progress the scheme and deliver benefits for Bletchley as soon as possible.

East West Railway Company Chief Executive, David Hughes, said:

“We’re really pleased to see that funding has now been confirmed to allow the construction of the new eastern entrance at Bletchley station. This will provide a vital, direct connection between the railway and Bletchley town centre, making journeys easier, more accessible and better integrated with local businesses and services. This investment underlines our commitment to working with partners to ensure East West Rail delivers lasting benefits for passengers and communities along the route.”
