c2c Rolls Out Digital Wayfinding Across All Stations in Partnership with GoodMaps
c2c Railway has announced a transformative partnership with GoodMaps to introduce cutting-edge digital wayfinding technology across its entire network, in a move designed to enhance accessibility and independence for passengers of all abilities.
The new system, powered by GoodMaps’ advanced indoor navigation platform, uses LiDAR scanning and computer vision to produce highly accurate 3D maps of station environments. These maps can be accessed via the GoodMaps Explore app or through the “Accessibility” section of each station page on the c2c website.
Digital wayfinding provides turn-by-turn navigation using audio, visual and haptic guidance, alongside real-time updates on lifts and escalators. Passengers can also tailor routes for step-free access and benefit from multilingual support, making it easier to locate ticket offices, platforms and other key facilities independently, without the need for staff assistance.
Steve Scutt, c2c’s Accessibility & Integrated Travel Manager, said: “This partnership marks a major milestone in our commitment to inclusive travel and improved customer experience. By prioritising accessibility and leveraging innovative technology, we’re making our stations more welcoming and navigable for everyone.”
Passengers can access the system by downloading the GoodMaps Explore app, selecting their chosen c2c station, and entering their destination. The app provides clear, step-by-step instructions to guide users around stations, while interactive maps are also available online for additional convenience.
