Earlier today a signalling cable theft caused major disruption at South Ruislip, blocking all lines and severely affecting services between West Ruislip and London Marylebone.

The incident, which had resulted in a fault with the signalling system, means trains are facing delays of up to 90 minutes, as well as short-notice revisions and cancellations. Lines have now reopened but National Rail expects major disruption to continue until at least 14:00.

Passengers are being strongly advised to travel later today or postpone their journey until tomorrow if possible. All tickets for the affected routes are being accepted for fee-free refunds.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:

  • London Underground services as follows:

    • Bakerloo line between Oxford Circus, Paddington and Marylebone

    • Central line between West Ruislip, South Ruislip and Oxford Circus

    • Metropolitan line between Amersham, Rickmansworth, Harrow-on-the-Hill and Baker Street

You can no longer use Avanti West Coast services and London Northwestern Railway services between Birmingham New Street, Milton Keynes Central and London Euston.
