Caledonian Sleeper has announced a new partnership that will see more than 220,000 pieces of hand-made fudge shared with passengers over the course of the year, adding a distinctly Scottish sweet touch to overnight rail journeys.

The operator has teamed up with Ochil Fudge, bringing the Alloa-based producer on board as the latest complimentary treat for guests. The collaboration is being introduced on Burns Night, a fitting occasion for a product rooted in Scottish tradition, with the fudge now available to passengers travelling on the sleeper services.

To mark the launch, Caledonian Sleeper staff will be hosting a celebration at the London Euston Guest Lounge on Sunday, 25 January. Alongside traditional Scottish food, guests will be offered whisky fudge made by Ochil Fudge as part of the Burns Night festivities. The event will also feature music from resident piper Lorne MacDougall and Norrie MacIver, formerly of Skipinnish, in tribute to Scotland’s national poet.

The partnership will see around 4.4 tonnes of fudge distributed to guests staying in Caledonian Double, Club Ensuite and Accessible Double rooms. Produced in Alloa near Stirling, the initiative reflects the operator’s stated commitment to supporting communities along the routes it serves. The sweet treat is intended to enhance the experience for travellers whether they are settling in for the night en route to London or waking up as the train rolls through the Highlands.

Supporting the Scottish communities the overnight service travels through is described as a key part of Caledonian Sleeper’s identity, with the partnership designed to highlight a well-known local producer while offering guests a small but memorable taste of Scotland.

Ochil Fudge was founded in 2017, starting out in a small kitchen beneath the Ochil Hills with a focus on traditional, hand-beaten fudge made to evoke nostalgic flavours. The company now adds Caledonian Sleeper to its growing list of collaborations, taking its products to passengers on one of the country’s most distinctive rail journeys.

Stacey Fleming, Caledonian Sleeper’s Guest Experience Director said:

“We are delighted to bring a little sweetness to our guests’ overnight journey through a new partnership with Ochil Fudge, offering a hand-crafted sweet treat that delivers an authentic taste of Scotland.”

Graeme Clark, CEO for Ochil Fudge, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to see Ochil Fudge enjoyed by Caledonian Sleeper guests. Every batch of our fudge is handcrafted, carefully created with passion and only the finest ingredients. Bringing a small taste of Scotland while people experience one of the most memorable train journeys of their lives, fills us with excitement, and we’re excited about celebrating a long partnership with Caledonian Sleeper.”
