Eight-Month Sentence for Man Who Terrorised Women on Bakerloo Line
A man who repeatedly exposed himself to lone women on the London Underground has been jailed following an investigation by British Transport Police.
Matheus Prestes, born 11/04/95 and of no fixed address, admitted eight counts of exposure at a court hearing in November 2025. He was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment at Inner London Crown Court on Friday 13 February.
The court was told Prestes carried out a sustained pattern of sexual offending, deliberately targeting women travelling alone on the Bakerloo line over several months. His first reported offence occurred at around 7pm on Saturday 21 June 2025. After stepping off a Bakerloo line train at Baker Street, he remained on the platform and exposed himself while staring at a woman still seated on board.
Just days later, on Wednesday 25 June, he exposed himself again and began masturbating in front of a woman on a southbound Bakerloo line service. When she informed him she was contacting police, he left the train at Edgware Road.
On Sunday 6 July at around 6pm, another lone woman was targeted near Kenton. Prestes exposed himself on the train before disembarking and continuing to stare at her from the platform while masturbating. The offending continued into August. On Tuesday 5 August, he walked through a Tube carriage before exposing himself to a woman near Lambeth North. Later that month, on Friday 22 August, a further victim reported that he exposed himself between Oxford Circus and Waterloo, masturbating in her line of sight before leaving the train.
The court also heard that on Saturday 11 October he targeted three women in a single day on Bakerloo line services, exposing himself to each before quickly getting off the train.
Officers were able to identify Prestes as the suspect responsible for the series of incidents and he was subsequently arrested. During interview, he admitted committing the offences because he “felt like doing it”, telling police that the adrenaline rush motivated his repeated actions.
BTP Sergeant James Ashby said:
“Prestes repeatedly targeted women on the London Underground in deliberate and predatory acts. His behaviour was disturbing, persistent, and entirely unacceptable. It is down to these brave women reporting these incidents that we were able to piece together his spree of offending and put him behind bars. This sentence reflects the seriousness of his actions. Passengers can be reassured that we will always take reports of sexual offences seriously, act quickly to identify offenders, and work tirelessly to bring them before the courts. If you experience or witness a sexual offence on a train or at a station, please report it by texting 61016. In an emergency, always call 999. We take every report seriously and will stop at nothing to bring sexual offenders like Prestes to justice.”
