Greater Anglia will be offering free travel to serving military personnel and veterans attending Remembrance Day events in London, following the approach taken by train operators across the country. The offer covers journeys to and from both the Submariners’ Remembrance Service and the Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph.

Serving military personnel and veterans travelling to the Submariners’ Remembrance Service on Saturday 1 November can travel free to any London Terminal station on either Saturday 1 or Sunday 2 November, with return travel from London only available on Sunday 2 November. For the Cenotaph Service of Remembrance on Sunday 9 November, free travel is permitted to London on either Saturday 8 or Sunday 9 November, returning from London on Sunday 9 November only.

The offer also extends to free return travel for those attending a Service of Remembrance outside London on Sunday 9 November. Eligibility includes current serving Armed Forces personnel in uniform, as well as serving military personnel and veterans who are not in uniform but can produce identification such as an MOD90 Ministry of Defence-issued identity card, a Veterans Railcard, a Veterans Oyster card, or other proof of veteran status.

Additionally, Poppy Day volunteers and collectors travelling to the London Poppy Day event on 30 October to collect funds on behalf of the Royal British Legion are also eligible for free travel. Greater Anglia advises customers planning to attend Remembrance events to plan ahead and check travel information in advance.
