Manchester Piccadilly Chaos as Overhead Wire Damage Halts Trains

Rail services in Manchester are facing major disruption after damage to overhead electric wires forced the closure of several lines into Manchester Piccadilly station.

The issue has led to widespread delays and cancellations, with trains running to and from the station subject to alterations or delays of up to 60 minutes.

Passengers have been warned that disruption is expected to continue throughout the day, with services unlikely to return to normal until later this evening.
