Person dies after medical emergency on Chiltern Railways train
Train services between London and Oxford were disrupted on Sunday afternoon following the death of a passenger who became unwell while travelling.
The incident occurred on board a Chiltern Railways service that had departed from London Marylebone. Shortly after leaving the station, the passenger fell ill, prompting an emergency response.
The train was stopped at Northolt Park station in west London, where emergency services attended. The individual, whose age and gender have not been disclosed, was taken to hospital for treatment but later died.
British Transport Police said officers were called to the scene just after 1pm on Sunday, December 28. Services on the route were affected while the incident was dealt with.
Police have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said:
“Officers attended Northolt Park railway station following reports at 1.01pm on 28 December of a medical emergency on-board a train. Paramedics also attended and took the person to a local hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the person was sadly pronounced dead. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
