British Transport Police are appealing for help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault on board a Jubilee line train near Westminster.

The incident happened at around 09:55 on Wednesday 4 February while the service was travelling close to Westminster station. According to police, the man sat opposite the victim before beginning to gesture towards him.

The suspect then asked the victim what he was saying before suddenly standing up and launching an assault, repeatedly punching the victim in the head. Other passengers stepped in and managed to separate the two men, bringing the initial attack to an end.

However, police say the suspect then carried out a second assault on the victim before the situation was brought under control.

The victim later attended hospital where he received treatment for bruising and cuts to his face, head and shoulder.

Officers investigating the incident believe the man pictured may have information that could assist with their enquiries and are urging anyone who recognises him to come forward.
