Signalling Fault Slows Trains Between Tisbury and Salisbury
Rail services between Tisbury and Salisbury are being disrupted by a signalling fault that is forcing trains to operate at reduced speeds on all lines. The issue is limiting the number of services able to run through the area, with knock-on effects across the wider route.
As a result of the restrictions, trains travelling between Yeovil Junction and Salisbury may be cancelled, altered or delayed by up to 15 minutes. Passengers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys and to expect changes to normal timetables.
The disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day, with reduced-speed running in place between Tisbury and Salisbury until the fault is resolved. This means capacity on the line will remain constrained for the foreseeable future.
South Western Railway has put ticket acceptance arrangements in place across a number of rail and bus operators to help customers complete their journeys. The operator has also said passengers may arrange their own taxi and reclaim the cost via the South Western Railway website. This applies to travel between any stations served by South Western Railway from Exeter St Davids through to Salisbury.
Customers are reminded that ticket acceptance agreements and alternative travel options can be withdrawn at short notice. Passengers are strongly advised to check with their train operator for the latest information before travelling.
