Unipart Launches Trax Park in Doncaster to Boost UK Rail Innovation
Unipart has officially opened its new Trax Park facility in Doncaster, with the event attended by local dignitaries, industry leaders, and the Minister of State for Transport, Lord Peter Hendy. The new site represents a major long-term investment in the region and is designed to strengthen the UK’s domestic supply chain, with a particular focus on supporting the rail industry.
Trax Park will serve as a hub for multi-sector operations while showcasing advanced capabilities such as UK-based manufacturing, digital signalling solutions, and predictive maintenance technology. These innovations aim to improve safety, efficiency, and reliability across the rail network.
Darren Leigh, CEO of Unipart, highlighted that Trax Park reflects the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, driven by its unique culture, The Unipart Way. Dr David McGorman, Managing Director of Unipart Rail and Technology, added that the facility turns cutting-edge concepts into practical solutions for today’s railway, creating a safer and more modern network.
Lord Hendy praised the new site as a major milestone for both the British rail industry and the local Doncaster economy, noting that private investment like Unipart’s is crucial to future infrastructure and rolling stock developments. The opening concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially marking Trax Park’s launch.
