Wabtec strengthens transit portfolio with Dellner takeover
Wabtec Corporation has finalised its acquisition of Dellner Couplers, the Sweden-based specialist in safety-critical train connection systems for passenger rolling stock, in a move aimed at strengthening its position in the global transit market.
Dellner Couplers brings more than eight decades of experience in the design, manufacture and servicing of couplers for the passenger rail sector. Over its 85-year history, the company has built a reputation for engineering train connection systems and now supports an installed base of around 100,000 couplers and 12,500 gangways worldwide.
The business operates production, assembly and aftermarket service facilities in 13 countries, serving more than 200 customers. Wabtec said the acquisition adds complementary technologies to its portfolio and supports its strategy for accelerating profitable growth within mission-critical passenger rail systems.
