Air Ambulance Rush as Woman Found in Serious Condition at Rugeley Town Station

Emergency services were called to Rugeley Town railway station after a woman was taken seriously ill, prompting a major response and temporary disruption to train services.

The incident unfolded shortly after 8.55am, with trains not stopping at the station while crews worked at the scene. A significant emergency presence was deployed, including multiple ambulances and an air ambulance.

According to the West Midlands Ambulance Service, the patient required urgent treatment on site before being transferred to hospital.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said:

"We were called to reports of a medical emergency at Rugeley Town Railway Station. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a helicopter from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a woman, who was in a serious condition. She received advanced life support at the scene before being taken to New Cross Hospital by land ambulance."

Officers from the British Transport Police also attended, supporting paramedics during the response.

British Transport Police said:

"Officers were called to Rugeley Town Railway Station following reports of a medical emergency. Officers attended, alongside paramedics, and a person was taken to hospital."

Services resumed once the situation was brought under control, though disruption was reported during the height of the incident.
