BTP Release CCTV Image After Assault On Edinburgh To Cowdenbeath Train

British Transport Police have issued a CCTV appeal as part of an investigation into an incident on board a ScotRail service between Edinburgh Waverley and Cowdenbeath.

The incident took place on Saturday 11 April 2026 on the 7.49pm service from Edinburgh Waverley.

Officers have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their ongoing enquiries.

The man is described as white, in his 20s, around 5ft 9in tall, of medium build and with short dark hair. He was wearing a mint green Stone Island crew neck sweater and dark trousers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 732 of 11 April.

Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
