British Transport Police have released images of a man they would like to speak with after a woman was assaulted outside Doncaster railway station.

The incident took place at around 06:45 on Friday 6 March. According to police, the woman was walking towards the station entrance just ahead of a man believed to be known to her.

Officers say the man jogged up behind the woman and pushed her as she approached the station doors. The force of the push caused the woman to strike her head on one of the doors, leaving her with a head injury.

After the incident, the woman went to the station toilets while the man remained outside and argued with members of the public who had intervened. He later left the area heading in the direction of Hexthorpe.

The incident was reported to police by a member of the public. Officers say they are keen to speak with the victim as part of their enquiries and believe the man shown in the released images may have information that could assist the investigation.

Anyone who recognises the man or witnessed the incident is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 115 of 6 March. Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
