Do You Recognise These Boys? Police Appeal After Coventry Train Assault
Detectives are appealing for help to identify a group of youths following an attempted robbery and assault on a train in the West Midlands.
The incident took place shortly before 8pm on 1 April on a service travelling between Coventry railway station and Coventry Arena railway station.
According to police, the group approached a passenger and demanded to see his ticket. When he refused, they made racist remarks, before one of the youths grabbed his phone and attempted to take it.
As the victim tried to stop the theft, he was punched in the face and sprayed with water. The group then left the train at Coventry Arena station.
The victim sustained bruising and swelling, along with bleeding to his mouth as a result of the assault.
Officers from British Transport Police have released images of the individuals they wish to speak to, believing they may have information that could assist with the investigation.
