Rail passengers across East Anglia can take advantage of cheaper fares this autumn, with tickets starting from just £4.80 as part of Greater Anglia’s Autumn Ticket Sale. The offer marks 200 years of passenger rail travel in 2025, celebrating the milestone with up to 20% off advance tickets for journeys across the region.

Discounted tickets are on sale until 4 November and valid for travel between 28 October and 15 December. Passengers must book at least seven days in advance to benefit from the reduced fares, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The savings include popular routes such as Southend Victoria to London for £4.80, Ipswich to London for £8.80, and Norwich to London for £9.60.

The special offer applies to a limited selection of the cheapest Advance tickets, giving travellers the chance to save up to 73% compared with standard off-peak fares bought on the day of travel. Tickets can be purchased online, via the Greater Anglia app, or by calling the contact centre where booking fees do not apply.

Martin Moran, Commercial Director at Greater Anglia, said: “Travelling by train is cheaper than you think, and the Autumn Sale means people can travel for even less in the lead up to Christmas. There is so much to see and do in our region and whether it’s a trip to the city or coast, shopping or sightseeing, we are giving people more money to spend on having a great time by helping them save money on their train fare.”
