Major Disruption Across London Terminals After Series of Rail Incidents

Multiple incidents across the rail network are causing widespread disruption to and from several major London terminals this afternoon, with delays expected to continue into the evening peak.

At London Euston railway station, a number of unspecified issues are affecting services, with trains currently subject to delays of up to 20 minutes. Operators have not yet confirmed the exact causes, but the impact is being felt across multiple routes.

Meanwhile, services in and out of London Waterloo railway station are being disrupted by an electricity supply problem between Waterloo and Vauxhall railway station. The fault has blocked some lines towards Clapham Junction railway station, with platforms 12 to 18 at Waterloo currently out of use. Trains on these routes may be delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised.

Further disruption is being caused by a broken down train between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading, which is blocking some lines and reducing capacity. Services on this section may be cancelled or delayed by up to 10 minutes.

In addition, earlier disruption following an incident where a person was struck by a train between Doncaster and Newark Northgate railway station continues to have a knock-on effect. Although the line has since reopened, delays are still expected on routes into and out of London King's Cross railway station.

The combination of incidents is likely to affect services throughout the afternoon and into the evening peak, as trains and crew are left out of position during recovery.

Passengers are being advised to check with their operator before travelling, as disruption remains ongoing and any alternative arrangements may change at short notice.
