Murder Investigation Launched After Man Found Dead at Tamworth Station

British Transport Police has launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead in the car park at Tamworth railway station during the early hours of Sunday 8 March.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Road at around 02:20 after reports that a man had been found unresponsive. Officers from Staffordshire Police attended alongside paramedics, but the 28-year-old was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the discovery, police began a wider search to locate a suspect. A 28-year-old woman has since been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody while enquiries continue.

A cordon remains in place at the scene as officers carry out a detailed forensic examination. Due to the location of the incident, British Transport Police has now taken the lead in the investigation.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have information about the events leading up to the man’s death to come forward.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Marvin Bruno said:

“Our specialist family liaison officers are providing support to the victim’s family and our thoughts remain with them at this time. We are urging anyone with any information or anyone who witnessed events leading up to the man’s death to get in touch with us.”
