Person Dies After Being Hit By Train At Shotton Railway Station
A person has died after being struck by a train in Flintshire.
Emergency services were called to the railway at Shotton shortly after 11.05am today, Monday 8 June.
The incident led to disruption on the rail network, with services between Chester and Llandudno Junction cancelled until around 2pm.
British Transport Police has confirmed that a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said:
"Officers were called to Shotton railway station at 11.08am today following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
