Police Appeal After Youth Gang Robs 16-Year-Old Near Drumry
Police are searching for a group of youths after a teenage boy was assaulted and robbed of his bicycle near a railway station in Clydebank.
The incident took place at around 5pm on Sunday, April 26, in a station car park on Onslow Road. A 16-year-old boy was approached by five youths before being attacked by one member of the group.
During the confrontation, the teenager was robbed of his blue mountain bike. The group then fled the scene, heading south in the direction of Drumry railway station.
Officers say they are now working to identify those involved, with all five suspects described as being aged between 14 and 16. The group were reportedly wearing tracksuits, with four described as white and one as black.
Detectives have described the incident as distressing and are continuing enquiries to trace the suspects.
Detective Constable Darren Boag from Clydebank CID said:
“This was a very distressing incident for the victim and enquiries are ongoing to trace the youths involved. I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened or noticed a group of youths matching the above description, to please get in touch. I would also urge anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage of the surrounding area to come forward.”
