Scarborough to Bridlington services cancelled as train faults hit line

Train services between Scarborough and Bridlington are suspended today due to unit faults affecting both trains on the line. Engineers are on site working to resolve the issue, but cancellations are expected to continue until the end of the day.

While trains are unable to run in either direction between Scarborough and Bridlington, planned engineering works mean that buses are also replacing trains between Bridlington and Beverley. Passengers are advised to check at stations before departure for the latest arrangements.

Northern Rail has temporarily lifted ticket restrictions in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak fares, with normal restrictions returning once services resume. Customers may use their tickets at no additional cost on TransPennine Express services between Scarborough and York, as well as alternative Northern services between York and Hull.

Passengers are reminded to check with their operator before travelling, as ticket acceptance and alternative travel arrangements may change at short notice.
