Detectives hunt man over sexual assault on busy Warrington–Manchester service
British Transport Police have issued an image as part of an investigation into a reported sexual assault on a train travelling between Warrington Bank Quay railway station and Manchester Oxford Road railway station.
The incident is understood to have taken place at around 1pm on Thursday 23 April, when a woman was allegedly assaulted by a man while standing in the vestibule area of the service.
Officers are now appealing to the public for assistance, stating that the individual shown in the released image may be able to help with enquiries relating to the case.
Investigators are urging anyone who recognises the man, or who may have relevant information, to get in touch with British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 328 of 23 April.
Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
