East Coast Main Line Blocked Following Bridge Strike at Dunbar

All lines have been blocked at Dunbar after a vehicle struck a bridge, causing disruption to services on the East Coast Main Line.

Trains running between Edinburgh and Berwick-upon-Tweed may be delayed by up to 40 minutes, cancelled or revised while the incident is dealt with. Disruption is currently expected to continue until 18:00.

The incident is affecting services operated by CrossCountry, LNER, Lumo, ScotRail and TransPennine Express, with passengers travelling through the area warned that journeys are likely to take longer than usual.

LNER has said rail replacement buses are running between Edinburgh, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Newcastle. Passengers have been advised to continue travelling as planned, although they should expect delays to their journeys.

The operator has also advised that passengers may be entitled to compensation if they are delayed in completing their journey today.
