Heathrow Airport Trains Hit By Major Disruption After Points Failure
Passengers travelling to and from Heathrow Airport are being warned of major disruption after a points failure at Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3.
The fault has left some lines blocked, affecting services on both the Elizabeth line and Heathrow Express. Trains may be cancelled, revised, or delayed by up to 20 minutes while the issue continues.
The disruption is affecting Elizabeth line services between Shenfield and Heathrow Terminal 5, as well as between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4. Heathrow Express services between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5 are also being affected.
Elizabeth line passengers are currently being advised that tickets can be used at no extra cost on London Buses routes 285, 423 and X26.
Heathrow Express has said passengers whose trains are cancelled may use either of the two services before or the two services after their booked train. The operator says original tickets will still be accepted at no extra cost, even where those alternative trains are peak services or less flexible.
Passengers should be aware that ticket acceptance and alternative travel arrangements can change or be withdrawn at short notice. Anyone planning to travel is advised to check with their operator before setting off.
Journey updates are available through the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
Major disruption is currently expected to continue until 2.30pm.
