Rail services in south-east London were heavily disrupted late on Saturday night after a person was struck by a train near Bromley South station.

The incident occurred on the line between Orpington and Swanley shortly after 22:30 on March 7. Emergency services were called to the scene and train movements in the area were halted while the situation was dealt with.

National Rail confirmed that all lines between Orpington and Swanley were closed during the response to the incident. The closure affected services running through the route as staff and emergency crews worked on the railway.

Passengers travelling on Southeastern and Thameslink services were warned to expect significant disruption as a result. Operators advised that delays and cancellations would continue through the remainder of the evening while the incident was being managed.
