Major East Coast Main Line Disruption Continues After Person Hit by Train
All lines have reopened between Peterborough / Royston and London after emergency services completed their work following an earlier incident in which a person was hit by a train.
Although trains are now able to run again, services are still recovering and passengers may continue to face disruption. Trains could be severely delayed by up to 30 minutes, revised or cancelled while operators work to restore normal running.
It may still affect services on the following routes:
• Grand Central between Sunderland / Bradford Interchange and London Kings Cross
• Great Northern between Stevenage and Moorgate, and also between Kings Lynn / Ely / Cambridge / Letchworth Garden City and London Kings Cross
• Hull Trains between Hull and London Kings Cross
• LNER between Inverness / Aberdeen / Edinburgh / Newcastle / York / Harrogate / Bradford Forster Square / Leeds / Lincoln and London Kings Cross
• Lumo between Edinburgh and London Kings Cross
• Thameslink between Cambridge and Brighton, and also between Peterborough and Horsham
Disruption is expected to continue until 19:00 as the service recovers.
