Major London Paddington Disruption After Person Hit by Train
Rail services between London Paddington station and Heathrow Airport / Reading have resumed after emergency services dealt with an earlier incident in which a person was tragically struck by a train.
All lines have now reopened, however passengers are continuing to face major disruption while the railway recovers, with delays of up to 45 minutes, cancellations and revised services expected until around 12:30.
The earlier incident heavily impacted services across several operators, including Elizabeth line routes between Shenfield and Heathrow Terminal 4, Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4 / Heathrow Terminal 5 / Maidenhead / Reading, as well as services between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 4.
All Great Western Railway services to and from London Paddington were also affected, alongside Heathrow Express trains between Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5.
Earlier, Great Western Railway posted on X:
"Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway between London Paddington and Reading all lines are closed. Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled or delayed."
Heathrow Express also posted on X:
"Due to a significant incident outside of our control, there are currently no Heathrow Express services running. We are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible."
Some ticket acceptance remains available on alternative services, although passengers are being advised that arrangements may change at short notice and to check with operators before travelling.
