Man Threatened During Tube Robbery Attempt at Mansion House

Detectives have released images after an attempted robbery at Mansion House Underground station late at night left a passenger fleeing the platform.

The incident happened shortly after 11pm on Saturday 11 April while a man was waiting on the Victoria Line platform inside the station.

According to investigators, another man approached the victim and attempted to pull a mobile phone from his pocket. The suspect allegedly demanded the phone be handed over and grabbed the victim’s hand in an effort to stop him leaving the area.

Police say the victim eventually managed to escape, with the other man then reportedly shouting threats towards him as he ran away.

British Transport Police officers believe the individual shown in the released images may be able to assist with enquiries and are appealing to the public for help identifying him.

Anyone who recognises the man is asked to text 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 885 of 11 April. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
