Midland Main Line Disruption After Person Hit by Train Near Kettering

Rail services on a key Midland Main Line section have been severely disrupted after a person was struck by a train between Kettering and Wellingborough.

Emergency services are currently at the scene, with all lines between the two stations closed while the incident is dealt with. As a result, trains are unable to run in either direction through the affected area.

The disruption is impacting major intercity and regional routes, including services between London St Pancras International and Nottingham and Sheffield, as well as trains running between London St Pancras International, Luton Airport Parkway and Corby.

Passengers are being warned that services may be cancelled, significantly delayed or altered, with delays of up to 60 minutes expected. Despite the disruption, travellers are being advised to continue their journeys as planned where possible, but to allow additional time.

Rail operators have put in place extensive ticket acceptance across a range of alternative routes and operators to help ease the impact. However, passengers are urged to check with their chosen operator before travelling, as these arrangements may change at short notice.

Major disruption is expected to remain in place until the end of the day.
