Man Caught Masturbating on West Sussex Train as Police Launch Appeal

British Transport Police have issued an appeal after a reported incident of indecent behaviour on a train in West Sussex, releasing an image of a man they wish to identify.

The incident is said to have taken place on the evening of Wednesday 1 April, during a service travelling between London Victoria and Horsham. A woman, who was travelling with her young daughter, encountered the situation when they went to use the onboard toilet facilities.

She reported seeing a man seated nearby who appeared to be asleep, but with his hand down his trousers and seemingly engaged in inappropriate behaviour.

Officers investigating the report believe the individual shown in the released image may have information that could assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises him is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 758 of 1 April. Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
