Newmarket To Cambridge Line Closed After Person Hit By Train
Rail services between Newmarket and Cambridge are facing major disruption after a person was hit by a train.
Emergency services are dealing with the incident, and all lines between the two stations are currently closed.
Trains running between Newmarket and Cambridge may be cancelled, revised, diverted or delayed by up to 60 minutes while the response continues.
Services are being amended so they do not run between Newmarket and Cambridge. Passengers have been warned that journeys may be subject to short-notice changes while the incident is managed.
Trains between Ipswich and Cambridge are being diverted to Ely, where they will terminate and restart.
Rail replacement vehicles have been requested to operate between Cambridge North and Bury St Edmunds, although these have not yet been confirmed.
Passengers are being advised to check their journey before travelling using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner.
Disruption is expected to continue until approximately 21:00.
