Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Train Collision in Fort Langley
Emergency services are responding to a fatal incident involving a train in Langley, prompting road closures and an ongoing police investigation.
Langley RCMP said officers were called at approximately 7:44 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, after a report of a collision between a pedestrian and a train at the intersection of Glover Road and Billy Brown Road.
Front-line officers attended the scene and located an individual who had been struck by the train. Despite efforts by emergency responders, the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sgt. Zynal Sharoom said:
“Despite life saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Road closures are in effect in the immediate area while our investigators continue their investigation.”
Motorists and other road users have been advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes while police remain on site.
Police are appealing for witnesses, asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to contact Langley RCMP on 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2026-3084.
