Person Killed After Being Struck by Train at Hartford Station

A fatal incident has taken place at a railway station in Cheshire West after a person was struck by a train.

Emergency services were called to Hartford Station at around 3pm on Wednesday, with police and other responders remaining at the scene as the situation unfolded.

British Transport Police confirmed that the incident resulted in a death, stating that a person had been hit by a train. No further information about the individual involved has been released.

Cheshire Police said the station has been closed to members of the public, warning that the closure could remain in place for several hours while the incident is dealt with.

Officers added that, at this stage, there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. No additional details about the deceased have been made public.

The incident has caused disruption on the railway, with cancellations, delays and route diversions affecting services operating between Crewe and Liverpool.
